Guest guest
-- I am a work-at-home-mom to two small children and I have stage 2 PSC.There are days when dint of will is the only thing that gets me moving. One thing that I have added to my diet that is helping is unrefined, virgin coconut oil. It is a medium chain fatty acid that is readily converted to energy by our bodies. Elite athletes use it to keep going during competition and endurance training. This is not hydrogenated, but the good stuff. I buy mine at the local health food store. I use it as a replacement for butter -- on toast, veggies, in baking, etc. It has a lovely flavor and has definitely helped perk me up a bit. One other thought -- are you drinking enough water? Dehydration really can make you feel incredibly rundown. I'm not very good about it myself, but am trying to be more conscientious. Guest guest
Thank you so much. I will try to stop at the local health store and get some of that. As for the water drinking thing, I am still working on that. It is hard to drink so much. Thanks again Colleen:) > > -- I am a work-at-home-mom to two small children and I have stage 2 PSC.There are > days when dint of will is the only thing that gets me moving. > > One thing that I have added to my diet that is helping is unrefined, virgin coconut oil. Guest guest
> > As for the water drinking thing, I am still working > on that. It is hard to drink so much. Everytime after I go to the toilet I have a drink of water, gets quite an easy habit to get into, like washing your hands. I started with just asmall drink of water and slowly got up to 200mls drink as my bladder got used to all the liquid, I think I would now be drinking about 2ltrs of water a day. I am not a coffee drinker - it could be come fraught with its diuretic effect if I was......grin. Best wishes
Guest guest
- What a great suggestion. It seems like a great habit to keep hydrated, which so many people feel keeps the "bile running smoother" - anything to reduce sludge!
