Guest guest
Hi there. I haven't posted in a while. I'm the person who was not getting better on T3 only (though very much believe in it). I could not tolerate being off NT for some odd reason, but boy did I try. So, I went back on 1/2 grain while being on 25mcg Cytomel. My Rt3 dominance was still able to clear. (Though don't know what the ratio is now. My brain fog won't let me figure it out!) I posted some other labs because this is what helps tell my story: my FT3 is low now and it was HIGHER when I was on NO cytomel at all, and only NT, though my horrific brain fog was much worse on 2 grains of NT, which makes sense as my ratio went from 17 on 1 grain of NT to 11 on 2 grains. It's like my body needs the increased dose, but can't tolerate it. And, I also can't tolerate the increase in cytomel!!! My ferritin is good (i've done iron IVs several times. I'm on 20mg Cortef to help with adrenals. (have been up to 27mg cortef, though it made me foggier.) Morning temp is fairly stable across days, though had a dip last week. I'm also on .1mg fludro, 17mcg cytomel (I KNOW it's low, but I wasn't tolerating going any higher - temps would drop and I'd get freezing - so I stayed put for 6 weeks to see. I added back in 1 grain NT as an experiment. It didn't budge my Ft4 after 6 weeks, and my TSH DROPPED.) Again, not sure what my ft3/rt3 ratio is. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. 5/14/10- serum - on 1 grain NT & 17mcg Cytomel • FT3: 228 (range: 230-420) • FT4: 0.5 (range: 0.8 – 1.8) • RT3: 124 (range: 90-350) • FT3/RT3 ratio: ?? • TSH: 2.16 (range: .40 – 4.50) 3/01/10 – serum – on ½ grain NT & 25mcg Cytomel • FT3: 327 (range: 230 – 420) • FT4: 0.5 (range: 0.8-1.8) • RT3: 13 (range: 11-32) • FT3/RT3 ratio: 25 (optimal: at least 20) • TSH: 0.19 (range: .40-4.50) (In October or November, titrated from 2 grains down to 1. started cytomel in on 2 December 2009 and began decreasing from 1 grain to ½ grain NT. ) 10/09 – serum – on 2 grains NT • FT3: 331 (range: 230-420) • FT4: 1.1 (range: 0.8-1.8) • RT3: 28 (range: 11-32) • FT3/RT3 ratio: 11 (optimal: at least 20) • TSH: .06 (range: .40 – 4.50) 6/09 – serum – on 1 grain NT • FT3: 279 (range: 230-420) • FT4: 0.8 (range: 0.8-1.8) • RT3: 16 (range: 11-32) • FT3/RT3 ratio: 17 (optimal: at least 20) I've started chelating iron and mercury right now. I know that can slam adrenals. Not sure how it impacts thyroid.
