Janie, Thanks for your response. The gallon would be at the " bottom " of the list

for me.

Mag citrate doesn't seem to work well for me, I've been up all night before.

I'll call the

office tomorrow and see if I can get an alternate prep, but does anyone have any

other

suggestions? Thanks!

Still not caught up on the posts!

Martha,

I suggest the pills. For the life of me I can't think of the name. But it worked

and wasn't nearly so awful to drink a lot of clear fluids to swallow pills.

Sorry I can't remember the name. I've got brain scramble or something. Take

care, Cheryl in ID

Hi Martha

It's funny but I just had this discussion at work this evening and I

agree with you. The ginger-salty concoction (I believe it's made by

Fleet--also makers of Fleet enemas) chased with water was much more

effective for me than the prep I had to do more recently. I found that

if you drink the ginger stuff without mixing it with water and then

drank the water afterward, it was the least offensive tasting.

I agree 100% - even better if the "ginger stuff" is cold - then down it in two or three gulps, followed by whatever clear liquid you want for the best chaser imaginable!

Hi all,

I wanted to report back about the colonoscopy, since I asked about alternate

preps a while

ago. I ended up never making time to call to change the prep, so I had to do Mag

citrate. This

was a total of 3 10 oz bottles divided into two rounds 3 hours apart. It took

forever for

anything to happen- and the usual unpleasantness when it did. My GI said that

they don't

use Fleet phospho-soda anymore because a small number of people experience

serious

kidney problems (due to the phosphate, not the sodium, interestingly). He said

he'd

prescribe the pills next time if I wanted to try them, but warned some people

vomit with

those. Whee...
