Simple man's question

Hi All,

Very new to the group but exceptionally glad it was set up. I was diagnosed

about a year ago

with PSC after suffering upper quadrant pains. I am an eternal optimist and

hearing the

phrase that you are " more likely to die with PSC than from it " gives me hope

that the 5-10

year horizon given until transplant on various web sites might not be the

current average. On

Urso and also without being told to taking Milk Thistle and Probiotic

supplements. Anything

else that might be helpful?

I assume you're taking probiotics for UC? Otherwise, it's probably not doing anything for PSC (unless there's some new research?). I take milk thistle, SAMe, calcium and a high potency vitamin in addition to Urso. ALL WITH THE OK OF MY HEPATOLOGIST. Make sure you check with your Dr. on supplements. I also have a (relatively - average < 40 mg) low fat diet, and exercise frequently.

As you will find we are a mixture of races, creeds and cultural
