Guest guest
Hi Deb,I was on prozac for a while and then wellbutrin. I'm sure it increased my energy level for a while, but then I couldn't sleep and needed a sleeping pill. The sleeping pill made the fatigue worse (to the point where I couldn't work at all). So I weaned off both the anti-depressant and the sleeping pill. The fatigue is still a problem, and I'm on intermittent disability, working about 2-4 days per week. I'm been doing okay w/out an antidepressant, but now I'm starting to feel occasional mild depression. So I'll probably be seeing a therapist to talk through issues. The hepatologist said this could take years, but should be helpful, and I can avoid the medication for depression. Meds for depression and sleeping problems are incredibly strong neuro meds.As to depression, when I feel it coming on, I try to get in a walk or some exercise; concentrate on the positive things in my life; talk to family or friends; do something fun; spend time with family and/or friends. You absolutely need to combat depression in an aggressive way. And depression is a common problem with chronic and or progressive illnesses.I'm not sure if this information will help or not. It's been my experience.Marie To: From: neenerfee@...Date: Wed, 18 Jun 2008 15:39:06 +0000Subject: Quick question Hi. i was diagnosed approx 1.5 years ago. My only complaint, so far, has been fatigue and mild depression, although I have been getting a little more itchy lately, but it isn't driving me bananas just yet. My question is about anti-depressants. I have been able to work through the fatigue and mild depression on my own thus far, but I am finding that it is getting harder to do. I know there are several members here that are taking something and I realize that everyone is different and taking several different kinds of "happy pills". Wellbutrin I have noticed is a common one, and I was wondering if you find that taking an anti-depressant helps with your energy level or if it just makes it easier to deal with. Also, did you start on something relatively mild and move up in dosage or on to a different brand? Has anyone been able to come off of them? I really appreciate you help and look forward to hearing from you! Deb Alberta, Canada Crohn's 1999 PSC 2006 Need to know now? Get instant answers with Windows Live Messenger. IM on your terms. Guest guest
Deb, I would read the book, "Your drug may be your problem" by Dr. Breggin, before considering any kind of anti-depressant. Can be bought in most book stores or every where online. http://www.breggin.com/yourdrug.html Lori A. "Aggressively Pursuing Solutions To Your Real Estate Needs!" First Weber Group Cell: 1507 E.
