Guest guest
Also, the nori (seaweed wrapper) is often seasoned with tamari/soy sauce which contains wheat. > A belated comment... > > If you are thinking of feeding your kids sushi, read the labels for > forbidden ingredients. My kids LOVED the California Rolls sushi, and ... " crab " is fake crab that contains wheat. Buyer > beware! > Lorilyn >
Guest guest
Is it safe to eat sushi or even shell fish if you are immuno-suppressed? Seems to me I remember someone saying they could not even plant (dirt) or have fresh flowers. dee > > On the PA front, things are going ok. Guest guest
depends on how far out transplant you are I would guess. We are fresh from clinic today, talked to the dietician and got a more liberal diet, but still, 8 months post transplant NO sushi and to be careful with fish in general. Not a big issue for us since we are not big fish eaters in our house. But she did say that if it was throughly cooked it was probably ok, but didn't reccommend the route....at least not for Big Bird, err....... But on an up note....labs are perfect! woohoo....he has truly been blessed in that department.Brother, , 32, UC & PSC, Liver tx 12-12-07 Is it safe to eat sushi or even shell fish if you are immuno-suppressed? Guest guest
I was also told no sushi post transplant. I suppose if you know for sure that what you're getting has been well prepared and is cooked well, it would probably be ok, but for me it's not worth the risk. athan
