Guest guest
I was stupid and put off getting life insurance, and now I'm trying to do it and have not found a copmany willing to approve me (beyond what I get automatically through my job). Has anyone (in the States) had luck getting approved for life insurance? Also, we are trying to get life insurance for my husband and I saw someone mentioned earlier that being a live organ donor can cancel some policies. Anyone know which policies are organ-donor- friendly? Thanks!RuthUC - 2000, Colectomy - 2007, PSC - 2008
Guest guest
I had always been turned down for insurance until I discovered that some of the companies I deal with offer small life insurance policies without a physical. I have been able to get several of them. Each one is 3-5 thousand dollar, but they add up in the end. I have two through my bank, through a credit card company. Has anyone tried AARP or the like, if they are old enough? > > > Hello everyone, > > Has anyone gotten accepted for life insurance after they have been > diagnosed with Crohns or UC and PSC. Guest guest
This life insurance question went around last year, so if you search the past post you may get some info.. My husband is in management with a major life insurance company and as far as individual insurance we are now uninsurable. both life and long term care and disability etc.

Guest guest
What about a group policy that is provided through an association or workplace? That requires no physical, am I correct? Guest guest
I am an insurance agent in Iowa and I know of couple of companies that you may be able to get life insurance. It is a graded benefit for the first 2 years. If you pass the premiums are returned plus 12% interest. If anyone wants information please e-mail me personally and I will respond next week. Please indicate your birthdate, amount of life insurance and state you live in. Thanks, mr111mack@... Guest guest
I'd be leery of the company that offers you insurance without a physical, they happily take your premiums but when it comes time to collect from them, they might refuse to pay, saying it was a pre-existing condition. We had that happen to my son after we had bought some travel insurance and he required a hospital visit during a Christmas vacation, Ian (52) PSC 89 I had always been turned down for insurance until I discovered that some of the companies I deal with offer small life insurance policies without a physical. Guest guest
All you have to do is verify the company's information with the insurance commission and make sure that you read the policy before agreeing to it. AARP offers no physical life insurance for people over 50 (I think)and I know from experience that they are a good deal. My father had a !) K plan and when he passed away Last December it was really easy to collect the bennies for my mother. Their only clause was that you couldn't die within a year of getting the policy. He passed 14 months after getting it and they settled the claim quickly. Buyer be smart.
Guest guest
AARP ask the question have you ever been told you have a liver disease, etc.... make sure you read the " fine print " . or the claim will not be paid.
Guest guest
Some group life insurance has fine print, but many group (not individual purchased) insurance policies thru work will accept anyone, but the policy does not follow you if you leave the employer. Guest guest
Yes, I know. But there are other organizations that also offer insurance, correct? Like I am a freelance writer. I could join some kind of association, say the national Writers Union. If they offer group life insurance, then as long as I am a member and pay my premiums, I'd be covered. My point is that there are other ways to access group life insurance than via full- time employment. But one must be a bit creative in searching it out. Guest guest
I recently was able to get a small life insurance policy, now that I've hit 50. It's a no questions asked policy from Mutual of Omaha. For $30 a month, I get $10,000 coverage (I think that's right. My brain has been foggy for several weeks now). I know that if I die in the next 2 years, my hubby will get back the amount we paid in premiums plus 10%. We figured that was a far better rate of return than a savings account and so we got it! If anyone wants specific details, I'll hunt up the paperwork. Regards, Carolyn B. in SC

Guest guest
Be careful how you invest your money in a trust, the tax rate for a trust is sky high. I think it's 35%. You want to make sure the monies are used for your child and not sucked up by taxes. Make sure you bring this up with your attorney. Hello everyone, its me again. Guest guest
Do you have contact information? Do they sell second to die policies?Sent from my iPhone My husband works at Mass Mutual SE branch in Ft. Lauderdale. but as IT (computer tech). There is a special group called Eppy Financial that is ran through this branch that does all special needs planning. I can't say enough good things about them. They are always at Autism events and donate to a lot of our causes. Joe Eppy is who you need to speak to.
