Ladies, Ladies, you've got to get out more often! Even this ole

redneck in Texas knows the difference between Sushi & Sashimi.

In Japan when they make rolls using raw fish, it's called " sashimi " .

Here in America many people call both types Sushi, but there is a

difference.

Sushi: Rice, Nori (the green sheets of dried seaweed on the outside of

the rolls, with vegetables rolled inside (like avocado, carrots,

cucumbers, scrambled eggs, cooked shrimp, etc.)

Sashimi: All of the above with a piece of raw fish (usually on top of

the roll) like Tuna, Salmon etc.

Probably unbelievable, but true, Baylor has a special chef in their

cafe that makes hand rolled Sushi (while you watch) for almost every

meal (it can be quite healthy!)

Try it, you'll like it!!

I do know that ;-) however, in most restaurants...at least in Austin, it is prepared in the same area, not the same dish, but still too close too comfort for my needs...However...if Big Bird free...yummy crunch rolls and california rolls will be had (I NEVER touch sashimi....ick for me anyways...)

Barb -- you can have it all! Sushi is so not my scene. But this hardcore New

Englander sure

misses oysters on the half-shell -- slurp, slurp!
