"Building Bridges" Autism Parent/Professional Trainings held in Naples in 2011

Naples, Florida- December 09, 2010- Two licensed and certified speech/language pathologists will hold special training sessions for parents and professionals interesting in Autism Spectrum Disorders, starting on January 15, 2010.

Charlene A. Westman, M.A., CCC/SLP, and Ellen T. Hemrick, M.S., CCC/SLP both of Building Blocks, Inc., will lead four 2-hour workshops beginning January 15th 2011 at Outside the Box Studios. The other sessions will be held on January 29th, 2011, February 12th, 2011, and February 26th, 2011. All sessions will be held from 10:00am and 12:00pm. Outside the Box Studios is located at 1610 Trade Center Way Suite #4 in Naples.

Based on the work of Gutstein, PhD (Relationship Development intervention or RDI) and Barry Prizant, PhD (SCERTS: Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support) the trainings will focus on understanding the core deficits of Autism Spectrum Disorders, developing opportunities for shared communication with your child in everyday life, and more.
