Dear Bettyann,

I am so glad you had a good visit with Dr. Harnois and that you feel comfortable

with the facility and staff. Are those tests leading to an MELD number and will

you be officially on the list? Did you discuss with Dr. Harnois the driving

distance requirements? I know we were both concerned about that.

and I certainly hope that your disease isn't keeping you down to bad. It

sounds like you and Bud will be busy this next year. Please know that we are

both praying for you and Bud and wishing you all the best.

Hi Tim and ,

I am not listed yet, she just said that I am at stage 4 and of course don't know how long (or quick) it will be until I am. My meld would be too low to get a transplant now, and also I am still doing pretty good.

I told her I knew that the requirements for being listed there is being close to Mayo. The average wait time there is two months and then you have to figure some time after. We have a motor coach that we plan on moving down to a spot when the time comes. I didn't ask her if Hilton Head would be close enough (about three hours to Mayo) , we have a place for the coach there. They like the time to be about two hours, but she did tell me there are alot of options.

I hope you and are staying well, we still have to get together.

Take care,

Bettyann

Hi Bettyann,

I'm so glad to hear that you had such a positive experience with Dr. Harnois and the entire Mayo system. I agree with you that they are phenomenal! I hope that you're doing OK.
