Guest guest
Hot showers are supposed to increase itching, so a sauna may increase itching. I guess you'll find out when you try it. I've heard that heat is very difficult to take when you have a liver disease, so actually a sauna may not be a good idea. I live in LA, CA and when it gets hot here it totally wipes me out.Marie To: From: ironpumper@...Date: Tue, 14 Oct 2008 21:56:46 +0000Subject: Odd question regarding a Sauna Hi: I was wondering if any PSCers regularly use Sauna's and if they find it helpful in general (I'm thinking of the release of toxins) and if it helps with their itching (if you have any). Just a question that I'm curious about. Thanks, See how Windows connects the people, information, and fun that are part of your life. Guest guest
I cannot get in Sauna's because of my Asthma; however, I know that when I am having trouble with itching I cannot take hot showers or I itch worse, so I live on cool showers, which does help decrease the itching for a while. > > > Hot showers are supposed to increase itching, so a sauna may increase itching. Guest guest
I only rarely have used a sauna, but before my transplant I'd take a very hot bath or shower and finish with cold water (or alternate hot and cold), and it would help a lot with the itching. Actually it would make the itching almost unbearably worse for a few minutes after I got out, but then that would go away and I'd feel much better. I'd often do this before going to sleep, and it would give me enough itch free time to get a good rest. athan
