My son is the one with PSC but some info I have found when I wasdiagnosed with HHT recently applies to some liver patients also.Pulmonary AVMs (arterial venous malformations) can develop with anyliver disease. I have pulmonary AVMs because I have hereditaryhemorrhagic telangiectasia. I also have liver problems but most likelybecause of the HHT so not the same as my son's liver dx of PSC. Here'ssome info on what precautions to take if you have pulmonary AVMs.http://www.mcg. edu/som/medicine /Pulmonary/ LungAVM.htm FYI- The info "Pulmonary AVM (PAVM) are seen in about 30% of patients"applies to those with pulmonary hypertension The category this info isunder) and not the general population I am having surgery tomorrow and am getting antibiotics beforehand andwill have a filter on my IV.
