Guest guest
My son is the one with PSC but some info I have found when I was diagnosed with HHT recently applies to some liver patients also. Pulmonary AVMs (arterial venous malformations) can develop with any liver disease. I have pulmonary AVMs because I have hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. I also have liver problems but most likely because of the HHT so not the same as my son's liver dx of PSC. Here's some info on what precautions to take if you have pulmonary AVMs. http://www.mcg.edu/som/medicine/Pulmonary/LungAVM.htm FYI- The info " Pulmonary AVM (PAVM) are seen in about 30% of patients " applies to those with pulmonary hypertension The category this info is under) and not the general population I am having surgery tomorrow and am getting antibiotics beforehand and will have a filter on my IV.
