What can you tell me about portal hypertension?

So one of the nurses that saw my hubby when he was in the hospital mentioned

something

about portal hypertension. I've looked it up on the internet and the symptoms

seem pretty

spot on for what he's been going through. So, what can YOU tell me about it? I'd

rather hear

about it straight from the horses mouths so to speak, rather than read about it

from the

Mayo Clinic web site. TIA :)
