Guest guest
sounds like it would be easier for the three kids to split the TV bill when Jerry was in the hospital for several weeks, the tv/phone bill was surprisingly highPink Joyce IPF 3/06 Pennsylvania From: dan49gower <dan49gower (AT) yahoo (DOT) com>Subject: tvTo: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. comDate: Thursday, October 16, 2008, 10:11 AM Having a problem. In and out of the hospital with the pulmonaryfibrosis, vascular disease. heart diseases and I could go on and on. Cost of a TV is $6.00 a day for 30 channels can't do much cooking orremodeling of kitchens and bathrooms so actual channel line drops waydown. Can't even watch the local news on computer or TV. Is thereany thing that I can hook up to my acer aspire 6920,card or usb portto get decent picture live over the air free. Don't care if itsbroadcast as long as it's not going to stop working next year whenthey change digital or analog what ever it is. A small externalantenna on a bed table would be ok if that gives better reception butsome guy wanted to sell me a dish out the window and of course thehospital would never go for that. Newport hospital is about 40 milesfrom providence RI stations. and 60 miles from Boston The otherhospitals are both in Providence, RI. Finally something I can afford. The three kids are splitting bill and they will give me, hell if Ibuy something cheap. If no one knows can someone point me in the right direction as thismust be problems in other hospitals.Thank you,Dan Gower ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __
Guest guest
Bruce the local hospital near me has menu service i don't know what their telephone/tv policy is both jerry and i have been patients there, but i don't remember however, the menu and room service is great plus, they saved jerry last year when he was in septic shock that's most important to us Pink Joyce IPF 3/06 Pennsylvania Subject: Re: TV for DanTo: Breathe-Support Date: Friday, October 17, 2008, 11:29 AM PinkSpoiled in this area. All the hospitals I've been in here, all built in the past ten years orso, have worked around some of the traditional problems like this. Theydon't have the battle over private or semi-private rooms because allthey have is private rooms. The also do not charge for the tv or phone, just include it. Every room has a flat screen tv, internet access, andphone and they are not broken out in any charges. The big thing here toois menus and room service. Rather than traditional hospital food, youget menus, you order what you want within your allowed diet, and you getthe food delivered when you choose. It comes very much like room servicein a hotel.I think your suggestion is excellent. However, its ridiculous that a tvisn't basic and covered. If you're in a hospital for an extended periodyou surely need something. Now, for me, if I'm in for very long, Ibetter have internet access...lol>> From: dan49gower dan49gower (AT) yahoo (DOT) com>> Subject: tv> To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com> Date: Thursday, October 16, 2008, 10:11 AM>>>>> Having a problem.
