Guest guest
Hello all, I haven't posted here in a while, I've been posting on our post transplant site, but I wanted to update those of you who do not visit that site. I spoke with 's nurse coordinator today, and has recurrent PSC. I'll briefly fill you in on what has been going on. He was doing great, but about a month ago, I noticed him looking a little yellow. He went in for blood work and his bili was over 6. They admitted him to Vandy for a couple of days and did a biopsy. He was discharged on Friday, May 9 and we went back on May 12 for an ERCP. Both tests showed that there was bile duct destruction and he went in this past Monday for a CT angiogram of the liver. The doctor wanted to make absolute certain that it was recurrent PSC before telling us. Right now, they haven't relisted him. They have doubled his Urso and he is having labs again on Tuesday. If they do not start to improve in the next few weeks they will relist him. His MELD is a 17 right now. I asked " what if he gets worse fast and isn't listed? " . She said they would hospitalize him and list him status 1A. So there we are. This stinks, but we have been through it before and we can do it again. I know there are several members who have had two or more transplants, so we are certain we can face this again. wife of UC & PSC 2000 J pouch 2004 Tx 11-18-06 Recurrent PSC May 2008
Guest guest
(are you the same one from the BBC?), I'm sorry to hear it. I had hopes that it wouldn't be PSC again. There's a lot more people than I realized that get multiple transplants successfully, and I trust that your DH will come through fine. I will be thinking of you.
