I found some people who say they " heard that cast iron gave off carcinogens " , but no actual evidence. Most of the other opinions on the subject were that cast iron was safe (even one pro-teflon site mentioned that cast iron was one thing that wouldn't produce carcinogens). But again, none of them backed up their opinion with any data. The closest I came to finding anything that sounded authoritative was one site where it said that correct seasoning lead to carbonized oils which had no ill health effects, but that incorrect seasoning would lead to polymerized oils which did have problems.
