Guest guest
Hi, all. Quick question for the chemistry-minded of you. My husband has been on high-dose Urso and DHA since ~late spring '06 and, over the course of many months, his Alk Phos finally dropped into the top of the normal range. It stayed right there, at the very top of normal, for ages. It was really consistent - like no more than 1 or 2 points change up/down every 3 months. This summer, with the Mayo high- dose Urso study called off, we reduced his dose of Urso slightly, although it is still on the high end. Yesterday, when he got his blood tests back, his Alk Phos had dipped, for the first time, lower into the normal range - it was a good 25-point dip. This makes me wonder whether there is any possibility that some ratio of DHA:Urso is really the ideal combination? Is there any possible biochemical basis for this? Thanks, Nina in Philly
