Hi all,

This is the latest from Kerry's husband :

Kerry continues to progress with her recovery and rehab. She has been moved to a private room and was able to sit up for over two hours today in a chair with minimal pain. She is now breathing without supplemental oxygen. She does have it at her side in case she needs it for any reason. The chest drainage tubes are still in so she is limited on the physical therapy. She does continue with the breathing exercises every two hours with breathing treatments twice a day. Dr.s plan to remove the tubes tonight or in the morning, so she can get up and move around more freely. This will be a big deal to allow her to exercise the lungs physically.

While Kerry has been moved to a private room, the doctors have asked that visitors refrain from coming to see her. She is doing very well and they would prefer not to expose her to possible germs. The first three MONTHS after transplant are the most vulnerable to her do to the high doses of immunosuppressant drugs. Therefore her body's ability to fight off germs and viruses is weak. I would ask that everyone please understand the situation and refrain from trying to visit at this time. Believe me we would love to see everyone and tell you in person how happy we are with the transplant as well as how much your support and prayers mean to us. Feel free to email Kerry

as she will have her computer beginning tomorrow.

Thank you for the prayers, thoughts and support. We love our family and friends greatly, and you have helped us through this journey. We will need you as we continue this life journey. Thank you! and Kerry

Sounds as though she's progressing nicely! What a miracle.

Leanne
