Guest guest
Hello, I have MS and want to have my heavy metals and minerals tested. I don't have health insurance, so I am going to order the test through Direct Lab Services, who will order the DDI tests for a patient. Two questions that I have are below. If anyone knows the answer or has an opinion, I would appreciate it: 1) In regard to the DDI Urine Toxic Metals and Essential Elements Test, does anyone know if I am supposed to take a chelating agent before taking the urine sample. I asked Direct Lab Services that, and the woman who I spoke to said she didn't think so, but I know in the past people have told me that the patient is expected to take a chelator before collecting their urine. 2) I am trying to decide whether to order the urine test, the hair test, or both. Money is an issue, but I also want to get the most comprehensive results. (I am familiar with the counting rules for hair.) Does anyone have an opinion on whether it might be best to do both tests (urine and hair) or is one better or just as good as the other. Thanks very much for any answers you may be able to provide.
