Guest guest
Some people here have good results with SR T3, but some have better results with Cytomel/Cynomel. Just wanted to put in my two cents, if at some point it appears that SR isn't doing the job, regular T3 may do it. > > My compounding pharamicist has recommended using 10 mcg capsules morning and night for 1 month and then adjusting from there according to symptons. What is the general feeling on this forum of this approach? I am working on raising my iron ferittin levels up before I am in a position to start what ever regime I am going to start so I am just trying to work out my next step in this process. >

Guest guest
Hi Cindy Thank you for your input. Yes this information helps a lot. It might just have saved me a lot of time and needless angst. Much apprecaiated, hope all is fine with you now. Out of interest did you finally clear RT3 from the receptors and does this then allow you to reduce your T3 dosage going forward? I started on 10mcg (my ferritin was 50 by this time) twice a day. This is quite a small dose of SRt3 which is not nearly as potent as straight T3. I moved up to 10mcg three times a day after a week as dosing SRT3 seems to work better for a lot of people three times a day. This worked for me but everyone is different. I then increased each dose by 10mcg at weekly intervals. > > So my regimen looked a bit like this: > > 10, 10 > > 10, 10, 10 > > 20, 10, 10 > > 20, 20, 10 > > 20, 20, 20 > > etc. > > > > Now I am 40, 30, 30 > > Sometimes if I felt good I would increase after 5 days and other times I would wait longer than a week. Guest guest
Margery that advice is definitely worth a lot more than 2 cents so I say thank you for your assistance. Guest guest
Hi Wayne I have only had access to SRt3 which is why I have been using it, it has improved some symptoms although I am still tired and depressed which I find hard to live with. I am hoping that I might clear in a week or two but am not holding my breath. I will do another thyroid panel soon to see where my levels are at and if things don't look like they are going in the right direction I might have to get some T3 and give that a try. What is the general feeling on this forum of this approach? If you have normal hypo and not an RT3 issue then this may add to your other thyroid meds and help If you are dealing with RT3 and want to go onto a full replacement dose then it's too little and too slow The " how to get onto a full replacement dose to clear RT3 " protocol is described here www.thyroid-rt3.com Nick
