>I believe the primary benefit of the bluebonnet is that it is iron

bisglycinate; so even if that particular brand isn't available in the UK,

another iron bisglycinate may be.

Looks like this one might work

http://www.worldwideshoppingmall.co.uk/body-soul/iron-bisglycinate.asp

I have no experience of it and this is not a personal recommendation

BlueBonnet is 27mg and you say normally we need 150-200mg so I assume that is 5+

of the Blue Bonnet pills

Also do I have to stay on a maintenance dose of Iron once the levels are up.

Yes, unfortunately an adequate iron dose is 5+ of the Bluebonnet capsules a day.

I've tried finding an iron that allows me to take less pills per day. I was on

" Hema-Plex " for a while, which has 85mg of elemental iron per pill - only 2 or 3

pills a day! Yay! And it worked very well for raising my ferritin. But

Hema-Plex also has copper, (which benefits many people) but my own copper is

already too high, so I had to stop taking Hema-Plex.
