Guest guest
Corinna Should you be testing the first morning urine? I haven't looked into the alkaline/acid issues much as it made my head hurt trying to work that out so I just gave up and paid more attention to my symptoms and other body signals. But I have had several doctors tell me -- because I'm prone to dehydration and also have to deal with interstitial cystitis (bladder lining inflammation) -- not to check the visual appearance of the first morning urine, as I do at other times of day. And not to collect a clean catch of urine for testing when it is the first morning urine. The gist of their discussion was that it would be too concentrated since I don't drink as much at night (although I generally drink a glass of water between 3 and 4 am anyway because I'm awake and thirsty). Probably this view is different for a child than an adult, and/or varies depending on what the medical issues are. My opinion is that I'd pay more attention to your daughter's behavior and symptoms than the ph test of her first morning urine. If things are good, then this might now be her body's normal. Of course check with her doctor on this. Kim M. (should be 7 or above) > > These are worse among her 2 years control testing. I checked up the food she takes, mostly are alkaline, as vegetables, what are changes in her diet, is cutting carbonhydrates, which is acidic food. But the result is opposite. Will it because unbalance acidic and alkaline diet will cause her body acidic? > > We have tried electrolytes water, and baking soda, at 1/4tsp+1/8tps a day, it does not help, also severl bottles of lemon drinks. > > Really need help!!! Guest guest
I have some of those pH strips (which I haven't used yet), and they say to test several saliva and urine samples throughout the day (they have specific times, but I don't have the sheet handy). After the last one, it has you average the numbers out, and that is your pH level. I think it said to do it for two days in a row too.
