Guest guest
So today the craziest thing happened. A thrift store came to my house to pick up a piece of furniture that I have been ready for years to depart with. The guy came to my house and he asked for my help to hold the dolly in place so he could get the piece on it. As he tilted the piece, 2 stone slates fell on my head from about 2.5 feet of height. I collapsed although I did not pass out. I was put into a state of shock within minutes blood was absolutely everywhere. An ambulance had to come and take me to the ER!!! I got staples in my head as i have a laceration. They were not worried about a concussion but I need to pay attention the next couple of days if I feel some symptoms I need to go back immediately to the hospital. I need to go back in 7 days to get the staples removed. They wanted to give me a tetanus shot while I was there. I told them I got one 2 years ago- so they won't bother me. I decided I would look into it and I can always get it in a couple of days. I am not a big supporter of immunizations- and frankly I don't know if I need one. If anyone has thoughts on this- it would be appreciated. Please, do not worry about this being medical advice or something like that. If anyone is worried about discussing a topic on-list as it may be info specifically for me as you don't want to advise people in general email me offlist at jodah235@... I took a shower when I got home (there was so much blood in my hair it got matted- it was actually the first time in a long time I used " real " shampoo and I still did not get all the blood out) I slept for a couple of hours and I am feeling ok. Crazy. Part of me feels like I am self sabotaging myself so I won't get better (as maybe there is a part of me that -needs- to be sick? I just don't know what to think!) as just in the past couple of days I have been feeling much better post surgery- becoming more independent. I cooked and went to the market and have taken long walks on the river. My husband said to me that accidents happen to the healthiest of people.
