Just thought i'd share my recent boo boo with all. I've gotten lazy

about checking certain products ...like bags of dried beans. i bought

dried chick peas (GOYA) dumped the bag to soak and then saw a lovely

allergy warning that stated they may contain soy and wheat. These are

dried beans UGGGH. live and learn ,even when it should be safe check

anyway!

Odd that dried beans would possibly contain wheat. Is it because of

shared equipment or being processed in the same area...or didn't it

say? I don't think I have ever paid attention to the " ingredients " list

of dried beans....guess I'll need to now! Thanks!

Always sort dried beans. Rocks, sticks, other beans, and grains

sometimes find their way in, especially if they're packaged in a

plant that packages many different foods.

Sort well, rinse several times, then go about your recipe as usual.
