Guest guest Posted January 21, 2008 Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 I always understood that for thyroid function taking under the arm is best but for adrenals under the tongue since adrenals you are tracking stability but thyroid you want body temp and under arm tends to run lower which is more indicative of actual thyroid function. Not sure if that is true, but that is what I have read. Cheri RE: Basal Temperature I've been trying to figure that out too. I take mine under my arm because I can put the thermometer there and go back to sleep. :-) Anyway, I've decided (for my own sanity's sake) that the 97.8 and above they are referring to is auxilarry temp. I've gone back to different sites to check and they make no reference to adding a degree. That's my story and I'm sticking to it....for now at least....
