A side effect of this procedure can be brain fog from unfiltered stuff in system. He's worried about that big time. Anyone had the TIPPS procedure? He has more appointments in the morning. Thanks for all your help so far, it has been incredibly helpful. > Peace, > Dawn > Dawn, I am new to this group and this is the first time I have posted. I was dx with PCS 10/05. It was discoved when I had internal bleeding that was from varices from portal hyper tension. I had a TIPPS shunt in 11/06. I just went to my hep doc Monday and he is very pleased with how it is working. My meld went from 18 back to 6 which is considered normal. I am lucky that I don't have UC. The TIPPS procedure is relative non invasive and I was released the morning after the procedure.
Guest guest
I had the Tipps procedure and thank God I did. It prevented me from having an open surgery for my colectomy. They were able to do it laproscopically with a hand incision. I came through both things fine. By the way thank God I had the coletomy as they did find colon cancer stage 3. Nothing showed on colonoscopies except mild dysplasia in other areas but there was an area to had a 5cm lesion that did not start in the inner lining it was in the tissue. Thankfully the lymph nodes were clear. But I highly recommend a colectomy to anyone with dysplasia. Good luck to you, Patti Subject: T.I.P.P.S StentTo: Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 7:06 PM One of my brothers' medical team spoke to him today about the procedure they would like to do.
