Iron IV's....Where to Get

Some doctors have IV centers right in their offices. For other places to get

How long it takes depends on the brand and strength of iron, and if you have low

blood pressure. I get Venofer 5 mL single dose vials (100 mg elemental iron per

5 mL). These take 1/2 an hour; back when I had low blood pressure they slowed

the rate of infusion and it took 1 1/2 hours. Here's a post about that, as well

My Venofer costs about $75 a vial (the price has changed recently), and the Dr.

charges $70 to administer it.

How many IVs to get varies a LOT from person to person, and also, once again,

with the brand and the strength of the iron. Testing along the way is
