Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am going to have an ERCP on Tuesday. I was wondering what the recovery without complications is like. The last time I had one I ended up with pancreatitis, and a 10 day hospitalization. Since I am hopeful that I will breeze through the upcoming procedure, I was just wondering what to expect. The doctor will only be at my intra/extra hepatic ducts, and brush for cancer cells. Any info you could give me would be truly appreciated. Thanks so much,
Guest guest
, has had pancreatitis 5 times from ERCPs, but 4 without any complications. Sooo not fun. I was interested to find out this last time that they consider pancreatitis an injury more likely to occur when you are dehydrated. I was thinking that with the next ERCP I would ask them to give him a couple of liters since he is so prone to this complication. You are much more likely to get pancreatitis from the ERCP if you have had it before. I would drink like crazy and be sure to mention that you have had it before to your dr. You may even insist on letting a whole bag run in before you let them touch you with that scope. Best of luck and God Bless, Franson wife of (psc 2005, CCa 2007, waiting and waiting and waiting for tx)
