Hi Everyone,

I am going to have an ERCP on Tuesday. I was wondering what the

recovery without complications is like. The last time I had one I

ended up with pancreatitis, and a 10 day hospitalization.

Since I am hopeful that I will breeze through the upcoming procedure,

I was just wondering what to expect. The doctor will only be at my

intra/extra hepatic ducts, and brush for cancer cells.

Any info you could give me would be truly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

,

has had pancreatitis 5 times from ERCPs, but 4 without any

complications. Sooo not fun. I was interested to find out this last

time that they consider pancreatitis an injury more likely to occur

when you are dehydrated. I was thinking that with the next ERCP I

would ask them to give him a couple of liters since he is so prone to

this complication.

You are much more likely to get pancreatitis from the ERCP if you have

had it before. I would drink like crazy and be sure to mention that

you have had it before to your dr. You may even insist on letting a

whole bag run in before you let them touch you with that scope.

Best of luck and God Bless,
