Guest guest
- Forgot to mention, the steroids, both high dose IV and pills, did NOTHING for my husband's UC flare this time, which truly did scare us! We're thinking "Now what?" But the prednisone did help uplift his emotional state, or he would have been quite depressed I'm sure. So at least they weren't for naught, as we all know our low moods can contribute to the Big D. Bottom line: Fred did not respond to ANY medications with this flare. As mentioned, jury still out on Remicade, but at this point, we're giving much more credit to the SCD. Hang in there! By the way, Fred decided to NOT use his remaining probiotics and vitamin supplements that had illegal fillers in them. Didn't want to chance it. , That is great news for your husband! I am so happy he is making progress and I really appreciate you sharing...last night I was really feeling like I might not do the diet right now, but I have received quite a few emails inspiring me to continue! Truthfully, I have tried all other options so this diet is my best bet anyway! Please share if you have any "aha" moments as he improves thanks, tanya > > Your experience pretty much parallels my husband's, who's been on SCD > for 7 weeks and JUST yesterday noticed a turning point. Guest guest
Thanks , I also tried Asocol/Colozol, 6MP, Pentasa, Endocort and Flagyl. Nothing helped, and in fact have me 3 bouts of acute pancreatitis, the last one landing me in the hospital since I am now insulin-depended diabetes. The doctor wanted to put me on remicade but I have no interest in trying that since all the other drugs have not only not helped but have actually damaged me! Again, I will keep trucking on the SCD diet. I have a hunch that my daily egg consumption is not a good idea and will cut them out for 2 weeks to see if that has an effect....stay tuned! > > > > Your experience pretty much parallels my husband's, who's been on SCD > > for 7 weeks and JUST yesterday noticed a turning point.
