I've emailed to inform her of the list rules.

We don't approve memberships on this list, btw, which is why

occasional posts like this one appear. I don't think it has been a

problem to anyone :)

It is spam of Monty Python proportions Ruthie and I know the

moderators will send a nice note to say that this is not what we

do here and please desist. BTW, people aren't vetted before they join

nct_coffee but if they break the rules they can be unsubscribed.

Which is why I'm always very nice to et al....crawl,

crawl..... :))

Is that sarky? Sorry, I guess I'm just very prickly about spammers, I

get so many emails of that kind, pretending to be who they are not.

Sorry if I have offended

Its not you who has offended Ruthie, its spammers who feel they are

able to butt into a list (effectively a conversation) and ply their

wares...People wouldn't do it at a party (for instance) would they?!

If people intro themselves & join in , the no one minds the odd

mention of how they make their money... There are plenty active member

of this list who also sell everything from nappies to embroidery

thread, but first & foremost they are friends on the list.... so if

they mention stuff it doesn't count as Spam.... this one did though!

Larry,

I was going to mention to you earlier about the percentage's of men having

fibro being so much less than woman. I am sure you already know that and

possibly if the fact that you weren't depressed from this whole ordeal you

would be just hearing that! It is true far more men are depressed to

dangerous levels when not able to work for what ever reason. That is so sad.

I worked with a man that was diagnosed with fibro 3 years ago and filed for

his civil service dib/ret (different from social security disability) and he

got it right away. It just depends on individual circumstances. Of course

he had to file for social security dib waiting no longer than 1 year and he

got that first time out. Not that you might be or not be considering this,

however it's there for you if you need to. I have had to make myself decide

to do this very thing after the first of the year, and that's been a hard

choice due to my own denial. You sound like you have a good support system

with doctors and family and that's half the battle. Good luck to you and if

you ever need to talk just let me know,

Thank you Sue!

It is remarkable the response that I have received in

the past two hours! I'm truly overwhemed.

I too am on FMLA, so far without pay. So what, it's

just money. hehe

My doctor is trying to do something..... not sure what

yet, but something to help me. Being a man (again, I

have no control over that), it is almost embarrassing

to complain of pain so much of the time. I get looks

like I'm a Mall-Lady having just OD'd at the aerosol

stand. Honestly, I'm fighting depression over the

whole mess. And this isn't the time of the year for

that problem.

Hope you have a Blessed Holiday!

Thanks again for the good words!

I was aware of the percentages being affected by

Fibro. I don't feel special. (lol)

You are so right about men feeling the pressure of

work. I've worked 2 jobs nearly my entire lifetime

and now I can't do justice to one. I'm in the first

steps for seeking disability. I'll know in the next

month or so just how hard the battle is going to be.

There's almost humor in thinking how much I wish that

I didn't hurt so bad, so that I could get up in the

mornings and go to work.

I appreciate all the information and feedback!

Hi Pamela

what has the doctors said to you about your son? my son also grinds his teeth

and his eyes are sensitive to sunlight. It took me many years of pain and

misdiagnosing. i finally spend a couple of days going through the internet,

before i came across fibromyalgia and took the info to my specialist who after

reading through it all, and running a few tests, said it diffently is what i

have. my biggest problem with having it, is living drug free (ive reacted to

alot of the drugs they have tried) and having family and friends understand as

we all know it is very hard for them to understand the amount of pain or how

tired you are when you look healthy on the outside. now for the last 3 years my

son has woken alot during the night with pains in his knees mainly but

occassionaly other joints. doctors don't seem to think children can get it, but

they don't really know and have just said wait and see, i would like them to

explain that to my five year old and to us when we have had a run of it and have

been up 4 nights in a row. we give our son pamol ( a kids type of paracetanol)

what to you do for your son??

hi

im 34 and i have had fibromyalgia for many years and many more

undiagnosed, i am concerned that my 5 year might have it as he gets

alot of aching in his knee joints, i keep getting told it's growing

pains, but now the doctors are on a wait and see attitude. does

anyone else think or know their child has it??
