Guest guest Posted May 29, 2009 Report Share Posted May 29, 2009 My digestion treats fermented vegetables as raw foods -- in other words, doesn't tolerate them. I get all my usual upper GI symptoms with fermented vegetables as I do when I try to eat lightly steamed (or raw) vegetables, even after 5 years on SCD. Too much fiber. And then on top of that, my immune system responds with hives and respiratory distress, as it finds something in the fermented brew that aggravates it. So, I don't eat fermented veggies or any other fermented food, now that I think of it. Which frustrates me, as they are so full of taste and nutrition.
