Guest guest
Hi everyone, It just occured to me that while many of us are chatting away about different issues surrounding diet and weight loss, there are many here who are looking for posts related to pulmonary fibrosis. Some may become frustrated wading through all our talk about food so I'd like to ask that we all label posts related to diet, nutrition and weight loss in the subject line so that anyone who isn't interested can skip them. Thanks everybody! Guest guest
MB You all are not frustrating me, just making me want food....lol I would guess there are very few here who don't either have a weight problem now or won't. Between the prednisone with both weight and diabetes issues and just the lessened activity, its sure a common one and it does make the breathing even more difficult. I also think everyone had that point where it really impacts them. One person might carry a certain weight well and another might be very much impacted by it. Of course the biggest problem is that every theory on nutrition and on weight control seems to have an opposite. Part of that is we're all different in terms of how our body responds and what our body needs. I would encourage everyone to be careful with the generalities as it can be very different for them. Something that may be very healthy for one person may push someone bordering diabetes' blood sugar up too high. Anyone who decides to undergo a major or even fairly extreme diet please get blood work done before and regularly during it. Otherwise you will have no idea if the diet is helping or worsening a vital sign. The best example I know is people who go on Adkins and get their cholesterol checked and the doctor says to get off it. Most I've known on Adkins have had very high cholesterol before and found it to actually improve. Triglycerides have done even better. > > Hi everyone, > It just occured to me that while many of us are chatting away about different issues surrounding diet and weight loss, there are many here who are looking for posts related to pulmonary fibrosis. > > Some may become frustrated wading through all our talk about food so I'd like to ask that we all label posts related to diet, nutrition and weight loss in the subject line so that anyone who isn't interested can skip them. > Thanks everybody! > > Beth in North Carolina > Moderator > Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Dermatomyositis 11/08 > > " May you never take one single breath for granted " >
