Guest guest
Yes, I am asking because I wonder about thistradition in some cultures, and especially as a religious practice in others. When I say fasting or a fast, I am talking about a voluntary abstanence from the consumption of nutrition or food. Maybe your religeon requires such a practice, and it would definitely be interesting to hear from you on the matter. Personally, I have only done one voluntary fast, but it was due to having no money. I drank all the water I wanted, but there was no food, none at all. I was a young college student at the time. I could drink all the water I wanted, but there was no food at all for three solid days. ly, the fast taught me one solitary thing. Do not be without money to purchase food. From a health standpoint should a diabetic go without food? just asking, Harry Ridiculous! Who needs a budget?Every body knows one can spend their way out of debt. Can't they? Guest guest
You really missed out my fine Sir Harry Sir! if you had not have been so young at the time of your 3 day fast, you would have figured out how to add a tooth pick to that water and you then would have had a pine float! add some ice and you could have felt like you were in heaven. sounds kind of like a problem my Momma told my sister and I about once when she was young. she learned how to never allow her self to ever be flat broke ever again and she actually never was. she did turn in to a real tight wod if you ask me. saved half of every dollar she ever got her hands on from that day on. I on the other hand seem to prefer being broke and busted and can't be trusted the best. I figure you can't take it with you, so why pile it up for others to enjoy it with out working for it. A fast is giving up anything you really dig for a period of time, so you gave up food for 3 days and this was a thing you really dog a lot. could be a real good way to drop some pounds though. maybe I should think on a weekend fast? only eat Monday through Friday and then fast through the weekend until Monday morning. Guest guest
Hello, I, for myself, do not think diabetics should fast. I know fasting is a religious practice in some religions such as Islam. However, at least Islam says that you should not fast if it impairs your health. At least that is what I learned when I studied world religions. nne Should diabetics fast? Guest guest
I think it is more difficult for insulin dependent diabetics to fast for than one meal, but type 2's not on insulin, it would be easier. Many blood tests would be in order, however. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Harry Bates Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 4:29 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Should diabetics fast?
