Dear Dallas/Ft Worth area Firefighters, Nurses, Paramedics, CERT

members, and Medical Students:

This year's Texas State Special Olympics Games will again take place in

Arlington at UTA, and we will be providing medical coverage and

assistance May 22 and 23. These dates fall on Memorial Day weekend. As

you know, this organization relies on volunteer staff to provide needed

services for this event. If you are willing to volunteer at least 4

hours of your time toward this very worthy cause, I will be scheduling

morning and afternoon shifts on May 22 and 23. All firefighters, nurses,

EMTs, paramedics, CERT members, or students in these fields, are invited

to volunteer. Meals and drinks are provided to all volunteers free of

charge, you don't need to bring anything. If you are interested in

helping with this event, please reply to me with an email so I can

schedule a time for you. Wives/husbands, girlfriends/boyfriends as well

as children 16 years or older are welcome to attend and serve with you.

As all of you who have worked these games in the past know, this always

proves to be a most rewarding experience and strikes at the very heart

of why we do what we do. I invite you to come meet, work, and have fun

with your colleges in these professions as we we get the chance to give

back to our community and provide a much-needed service.

There are two ways to sign up. First, if you are volunteering for 1 day

or less, simply email me with the day and whether you will be working

that morning, afternoon, or the entire day. If you are volunteering for

more than one day, follow the instructions below:

When asked for your requested assignment, put " MEDICAL " . ALL ON LINE

SIGN UPS SHOULD BE DONE BY APRIL 10.

Once you fill out and submit this form, you should receive a

confirmation email from the state committee.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! When you get your confirmation back from the state,

please forward that confirmation to me immediately. This will give me

very important information that I need from you, including days

volunteering, contact information, etc.

I go early and pick up all the packets for those helping me so I can

save everyone a trip, and this also lets me know what to pick up for

you.
