Guest guest
For a couple of years before PSC diagnosis, I would frequently get a " heartburn " -like feeling. It would eventually go away - until the last time (followed by ER, PSC diagnosis, ERCP, etc.). For me, the difference was that nothing would help it. I tried the usual heartburn relief meds, gas-x, etc. In my case, it was located just below the sternum instead of the classic URQ. I could usually get relief by drinking 4-5 glasses of water, but it took a while for me to figure that out (slow learner). Guest guest
Did the gallbladder pain come and go? He says it feels like he pulled a chest muscle but didn't. Now he says that today is not as bad as yesterday. His eyes have been yellow for a while with no explaination from the doctor except to say he doesn't know why. But the eyes are more yellow today than they have been before. I am considering getting a second opinion from another doctor. An ultrasound two months ago showed a distended gallbladder but the doctor didn't seem too concerned and never ordered additional tests. I am so confused.... > > > > For a couple of years before PSC diagnosis, I would frequently get a > > " heartburn " -like feeling. > > > Same here except I eventually turned yellow, went to the doctor and was > diagnosed with gallstones which were in turn caused by the PSC. > > athan >

Yes, it tended to hit after a meal especially if the meal was large and high in fat (Pizza had me rolling around on the floor in agony all night). What doc ordered the ultrasound? A distended gallbladder could be filled with sludge or blocked in some other way, and it seems to me (in my totally non-expert opinion) that something like that could cause the type of pain he's having, and that especially in someone with PSC it should be followed up on. athan
