Hello Everyone,

I strongly recommend you attend the ville conference meeting if

you can. PSC Partners conferences can be life changing experiences.

But, if you can't or if you are ready for more PSC information the

following week, there will be a half-day meeting for people with PSC and

their families and friends and University of California, on

Saturday May 10.

Dr. Bowlus, who is a hepatologist and PSC researcher will

talk about STOPSC research and other PSC research being conducted at

U.C. . He will also recruit volunteer PSC patients to participate

in research. One non-STOPSC project is a search for markers in blood

that identify people with UC and PSC as opposed to people with just UC.

This could help screen UC patients for PSC.

Later in the morning, he will provide basic information on PSC and

answer questions. I will talk briefly about PSC Partners Seeking a Cure

(I have brochures from Barb to pass out) and about the Sacramento PSC

support group.

If you are interested in attending, the meeting is free and we are

trying to put together some funds to provide sandwiches for lunch. The

meeting time is Saturday, May 10; 8:30 until noon and possibly later

if necessary for questions and discussion. He will also be providing

information and consent forms for people volunteering to participate in

research. At this time, he will only be recruiting volunteers who can

travel to Sacramento or .

The location is the first floor auditorium in the Genome Building at the

UC campus in , California. I will get directions for anyone

who needs them. Please email me off-line if you want directions or have

questions.

(Sacramento, dx PSC and UC 2001)
