Guest guest
Hi Roy, Wlecome, glad you found this group, but not that you have PSC. PSC is very much an individual disease. Read these post for a while and you find that we are all the same (have PSC or are a care giver), but we all have different degrees of symptoms and different reactions to foods and medicines. Personally I can eat anything I want (I stay away from pork and shellfish, but not because of the PSC), I do stay away from alcohol because of the PSC (how effective it is I don't know). Others in this group are vegitarians and still others find they get different reactions to different types of food. You have to experment and find what works best for you. As far as understanding the blood tests, there is a lot of info on this group's website (not a tutorial) which may help. Ian (52) PSC 89 Hi, I'm new to the group. Can anyone tell me where I can find information on a good diet plan for people with PSC? Also does anyone know where I can find a tutorial about understanding blood tests and liver biopsys? Thanks for the info.roy.cranton@... (29)Crohns '92PSC '06 -- Ian Cribb former P.Eng. (resigned in good standing)

Guest guest
Though some are skeptical and believe that diet does nothing …I have a daughter that was totally sick and had no quality of life. I started her and our whole family on a “diet” we like to call it the “new way of eating” and it has improved the health and quality of life of our whole family and now my daughter who has PSC and UC has a life. Where has before we started this she could barely get out of bed. I am not claiming that this will “cure” anything. At her last MRCP it showed “beading” which means that the disease is progressing…but the doctor has said to keep doing what I am doing because at the very least it has helped with her UC symptoms beyond anything that medicine can do. If you would like to know more about it email me privately at kjb4me@... Guest guest
Bethany, I sorry if I sounded skeptical. I do believe some diets do help some people, but not that any one diet will help all of us. You'll have to try it Roy if it works for you great. I've had long live with no special diet. What I do have is faith in the Grace of God. Guest guest
LOL you are not the only one who has sounded skeptical…but I wanted to say that I put more faith in the Grace of God than anything… including the diet ) Without God I just wouldn’t *be* In Christ's Love, Bethany Hunt " And he [Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
