Guest guest
Ian, Just wondering, since sometimes pt's who have heart valve issues going on will get this time of " rash " on their arms/legs from the blood cells bursting from the trauma. This does not sound like your problem. If they " spread " to other area's of your body I would check in with your doc and of course watch your INR. Good Luck, > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > A couple of times a year my ankles and feet break out with these > > weird > > > spots. Guest guest
Hi Ian I used to take Coumadin until I was diagnosed with UC and then the relative risk of bleeding outweighed the advantages of continued anticoagulant therapy so it was stopped. In any event, I also had reddish-purplish spots on or around my ankles and going up almost mid-calf while taking the Coumadin. I was told it was iron deposits below the skin and not to worry about it. That was more-or-less confirmed when I went anemic from the UC since all the spots disappeared. I guess my body was trying to use up all remaining iron stores. Since I'm no longer taking the Coumadin, I've not seen any evidence of the spots returning.
