Guest guest
MB Yes, you know them both.....lol. They both had short drives, lived closer to the restaurant then me. Very interesting restaurant. Birraporetti's. Sign on door reads the name and above it says " A Great Italian Restaurant " and below says " A Heck of an Irish Bar. " We just did the restaurant part but a varied menu and I even ate healthy. I ate Salmon. So did one of the ladies and the other ate chicken. Sooooooooo good. I'm sure no one would have imagined three of us all at different stages but sharing such a common bond. > > > > > > Going in a little bit to Arlington, TX. It's not far but it's still a > > trip. Guest guest
MB Just reread your post and the comment " it helps so much " part. It just hit me as to how to express how it helps. My rut the past couple of weeks has included many doctor's appointments and while I've been doing ok, nothing exciting was going on. However, today, I feel totally refreshed. It's like it cleansed me of all that baggage and removed any residue from the appointments from my mind. Ideally we do something, even if very small and simple, fun every day. However, a psychologist I knew years ago would always direct his groups which met weekly to do and report back to the entire group at least one " planned pleasant activity " during the week. It's amazing if you do that, the unpleasant activities of the week are all minimized. It can be Lou's dinner last night or a trip to the local art gallery or for some a trip to Wal-Mart or dinner with friends or a million other things. But, I'd encourage everyone to do so. If you don't plan them, too often they don't happen. We put this dinner on our calendars on October 17 and it happened. Too often we all say " let's get together some time. " Some time then doesn't happen. I have a planned meeting with an old friend I haven't seen in 27 years or so and who lives 1200 miles away that we're planning for next May or June. There isn't one of us who can't plan something for this weekend. Even if its something like making a list of family and friends to go on a phone calling spree or making a point to have a nice meal at home and sit down and watch a favorite movie with nothing interrupting it and no excuses to not do it. Pleasant activities don't always happen automatically so we all need to make sure we plan them. > > > > > > Going in a little bit to Arlington, TX. It's not far but it's still a > > trip.
