I can't imagine having to go through the transplant and then having the J-Pouch surgery. had his surgery rather quickly after being DX with the UC. Of course you don't know how long he had the PSC before he was DX with that.

Larry,

's j pouch surgery was actually 2 years before his transplant. It

was during his j pouch surgery that they discovered how bad his liver

was. Looking back, he made a good decision with the j pouch because of

the amount of ascites he dealt with. He would have had a difficult

time with the ostomy supplies and his swollen stomach. The three month

in between j pouch surgeries was difficult for . Just getting

used to everything, but it made him that more appreciative when he had

the take down. I want to repeat what someone else told you. Get to

know your ostomy nurse well. She will help you so much. And if you

have an ostomy supply store to actually visit, instead of mail ordering

everything, that is good too. The people at the ostomy supply store

were very helpful to us.
