Guest guest
Dear All, Last week I had gastroscopy to see what may be causing certain pain attacks that I have every couple of weeks. These pains seem to start with burping a lot, and then discomfort in the stomack area (below the sternum), and pain when pushing a certain spot just below the ribs on the lower right side. The pain may radiate to somewhere between the right nipple and right arm-pit. The gastroscopy (which happened to be not so long after or partly during a long lasting attack) apparently did not show much except for bile in the stomack, which is not supposed to be there (duodenogastric reflux). Does anyone know if bile in the stomack might be associated with PSC? I read that without gall-bladder, then some bile might end up in the stomack, but I still do have a gall-bladder (and they have never seen any stones). I also read somewhere that burping might be a mechanism to try to push reflux down. Anyway, in a couple of weeks I will have a follow-up consult with my hepatologist to discuss the results. If anyone has any information about bile in the stomack or suggestions on how to differentiate if this is caused by PSC or something else (until now the hepatoligist suggested the attacks were IBS), I am very interested.
