Mine was removed laparoscopically - no problems, for me since then (2001). No

gallstones, " just " 3X normal size and " clearly diseased " . The only thing the

surgeon said he did differently, was to leave more of a " stub " on the common

bile duct (to the gallbladder) than he would normally. He just didn't want to

risk getting any closer to the CBD than he had to.

I was told to maintain a low fat diet (~30 gms/day) for several months. I was

pretty much already doing that, so it was no problem.
