Guest guest
Prayers you you, the critters, and everybody/everything else in the path of the fire... T in WY Practical Blackwork Designs http://practicalblackwork.com http://practical-blackwork.blogspot.com " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... " fire update This morning the fire is at 140,000 acres and growing. It's still at zero containment. It is the 4th largest fire ever in Arizona and the fire personnel are calling it a " monster " that has a life of it's own. A friend ran into an Apache firefighter she knows at Walmart yesterday. He said they discovered a group of 68 elk that died in the fire when the fire surrounded them. I'm sure many more stories like that will come out before this is over. The communities of Alpine, Nutrioso and Blue River have been evacuated. Greer is on standby for evacuation. The winds shifted and we are all smoky here today. The smoke smell is fairly strong here. The forecast says we have a small chance of rain but it also mentioned thunderstorms. Thunderstorms sound great but only without the fire sparking lightening! Please no more fires!! hugs Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Hi Cait....My daughter, Challis, has asthma so I know what that's like. Thankfully none of the grandkids have it. There is growing anger over this fire. We all know the forest needs to be thinned through responsible logging but the government won't let that happen. The anti-logging people say they are trying to save the forest. Even if our forests were way over logged to the point of us only having half a forest left (which would NEVER happen).... it just seems that half a forest is better than no forest, you know? The forests need to be thinned. The Apaches responsibly log their forests and seldom have these type of devastating fires. But we aren't allowed to log correctly and therefore we lose thousands of acres of beautiful forest land.climbing off my soapbox:)hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
The huge Wallow Fire is now 95% contained!! We are all so relieved.Lightening has sparked a new fire on the San Apache Reservation. It's currently at 7,879 acres.Copper Creek fire is 1,400 acres and is 35% contained. We haven't from our friends who own the ranch down there to see if the old homestead burned. On their ranch are also two historic ghost towns!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
