Guest guest
Nick, Thanks! 3 months (almost) ago lab showed the problem. That was with my GP. I was at a disadvantage because I had not looked into the issue. I had no input at that time. Since then I have gotten as much info as I could and I appreciate this site and Stop the Madness one. Monday I have another blood draw and see the GP next week. I am at a loss to know how to handle this. I doubt that this GP has much knowledge on the subject. I do not want to see an Endo as I think that would be a loss cause. I see the GP for diabetes because I don't want to get an Endo in this mix. I handle my diabetes and he works well with me. I know he knows too little on diabetes. He gives me the support I need, labs and such. I am confident with the diabetes but knew next to nothing about thyroid. I am trying to get things together for my apt and I'm not sure where to go after that. If he is about the thyroid as he is diabetes if I have the knowledge he probably will let me handle it. Trying to describe how I feel maybe it is fatigue to the limit. Everything I try to do is just too much and I feel like I could just crumple on the floor. It seems every day gets worse. Any suggestion as to how I should deal with the doctor apt. will really be appreciated. I have to have specifics as to what I tell him. I have to have specifics as to what I tell him. All the evidence from hypo people is that they need to have an FT3 at the top of the range in order to feel best and a TSH at the bottom of the range > >T4 5.8 (4.0-12.8) > >TSH 4.90 (0.3-4.2) > >Total T3 69 (70-170) > >Free T3 220.00 (202-443) > >Free T4 1.3 (0.7-1.9) Your FT3 is right at the bottom and TSH over range. Your T3 is under range Looking at the T4 level adding more T4 won't do it, you need either a T3/T4 combination such as Natural or a T3 only regime such as the protocol described on this group. You are hypo by those labs, you need treating for that. The STTM book is good, you have 3 choices as I see it. 1 Educate your Dr 2 Change Dr 3 Self treat importing drugs privately without prescription yourself Good luck in your journey Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
