Guest guest
Hi Nick, I decided to just make this its own thread to reduce confusion on the bedtime dose thread. I appreciate your replying even though you are swamped. But anyway, please see our conversation below copied from the other thread and then my latest reply: > > >Did you get my post about trying to switch to Cynomel? I am thinking it didn't show up. I am also thinking it was maybe a bad idea to try to change from srt3 when I'm also in the process of tweaking HC. I'm behind with messages again, Val's off this week and there is a lot of traffic here at the moment. You could swap to cynomel or you can mix and match, stay on the SR twice a day but add in some standard release T3 as well as an increase. That way you get the benefit of a flat response from the SR and a " top up " after say 6 or 8 hours. Either that or go onto standard only but you then need to re-establish dose Nick Okay, since I didn't know what to do yesterday while waiting for a reply, I went ahead and switched to Cynomel. Well, multi-dosing Cynomel seems much steadier than the SR as my temp was the exact same every time I took it and that NEVER happens on SR. Amazing! I don't think the SR is " flat " at all. I think 50% releases right away in me (a pharmacist from a major compounding pharmacy said it releases 30 -50% right away and then the rest trickles over 8 to 12 hours and for me, it's more like 6 hours, maybe 8.) So no wonder I feel a slump about 4 hours later and my temps dip. Now for my afternoon dose (my 2nd dose) this is actually fine because it wears off steadily as it gets closer to bedtime. On the other hand, Cynomel seems very STRONG compared to the SR, it's true. I got low cortisol symptoms big time from switching and I wasn't really sure how much SR equalled Cynomel, so I have to work that out. At first I went with assumption is was only half as strong, but then realized I needed a bit more. So I sort of threw my body off, but I think I can work with that and talk to Val about an HC dosing schedule. I think I need to stick to one thing for at least a week and not keep changing everyhing, but at this point, I really don't see any benefit to taking SR if I have to top it off with more Cynomel thorugh the day. I end taking the same amount of t3 doses throughout the day. The only benefit I see with the SR is the bedtime dose, since you get some all night and not just when you go to sleep, which may be easier on the adrenals. Anyway, hope someone can benefit from this rambling! Kathleen
