What does Casein Free mean verses Dairy Free? Anything?

Or does a Casein Free diet permit such things as Whey, since the

Casein is specific to the 4(?) Casein proteins found in milk?

When I was DF nursing, I included all components of dairy. I'm

thinking I need to remove all dairy from my Celiac after about a year

of minimal consumption of raw dairy (ie on cereal, in GFmac & cheese,

and an occassional yogurt).

It depends. Someone with an IgE allergy to casein would need to

avoid ALL dairy because there is never proof that all of the casein

is removed from something like butter or ghee or the lactose binding

in pills.

Someone with a less drastic reaction might not limit as much.
