If you feel better in the head, stick with it.

Make sure it is selenomethionine. Some people do not tolerate

selenium at all.

Not a bad morning temp. Your thyroid is probably doing okay.

I suggest taking temps 3-4 times per day at 3 hour intervals from

waking to look at the trend and the average.

Consider also more magnesium which could help all of this.

It sounds like you are just getting a lot of mercury movement and

chelation will help.

To help with bile flow, make sure you have tried milk thistle,

as it is one of the basic recommended supplements and should help.

If it's not enough, consider taurine, phosphatidylcholine, glycine.

Are you doing anything at all for low adrenals? Frequent doses of

vitamin C and B5 may help. Make sure you are taking zinc and mag

for general anti-mercury purposes.

Personally I would try some of Andy's suggestions for insomnia in

the book first - especially melatonin or valerian. I used to take

klonopin and was very addicted to it - very horrible when I had to

stop. I didn't do well on trazadone, perhaps better for you. Ambien

may be fine.

Are you trying anything OTC for adrenals? Personally I found

ashwagandha very helpful with sleep and many other problems.

I remember you didn't do well on isocort, but another glandular

product might do something for you until you find a better answer.

Here is one source of information about taking and interpreting

temperatures:

http://www.drrind.com/tempgraph.asp#directions

> ---per : OK I take a mag/calcium/potassium combination I do

> not have the Mg amounts with me but i think its quite high. how much

I take mag between meals and cal/mag with meals. I believe they are

absorbed better that way. Andy says 750 mg of mag. People will vary

in exactly how much they need and can tolerate. Personally, I did

not see benefits until I took 1200 mg, but I do appear to need a lot

more of this than some people.

Andy cautions against using potassium in supplements (can't remember

if this is in the book, but I've seen him post this). He recommends

getting it by using salt substitute. Also, alka-seltzer gold has

potassium in balance with sodium, which is a safer way to use it.

Judiciously, of course. Some people do react to these.

Not silly at all! You are doing exactly the right thing. I agree

each of these people tends to have their particular " snake oil " .

It's really worrisome when they say " it works for all my patients " .

Wrong!

If you are sufficiently functional, this is fine. But I would try

to get the testing soon. You can always order from somewhere like

www.canaryclub.org and then take the results to a doctor.

Some people seem to do better with a timed-release melatonin.

Yup. It can also change over time. Always good to try new things or

old things you haven't used for awhile in smaller amounts and see how

it goes.

Have you tried GABA? Sleep is a major hurdle for me, too, but I have found that

taking GABA (500mg at bedtime) helps improve the quality of the sleep I do get.

It doesn't help me get to sleep, nor does it necessarily help me stay asleep. I

think it does lengthen my sleep periods a little bit. But mostly it makes the

sleep that I do get more ... effective? Not sure that's the right word, but I

am doing much better on the sleep that I do get than I used to do, even though

there isn't substantially more of it.

Just a thought.

I have been taking GABA, I think it's 250 mg 4 x per day, and it helps

tremendously with being able to focus on tasks. Sleep has never been

a problem for me.
