Hello all - new to this board but have been on the adult metal

chelation for a while.

following andy's protocol while also doing DR ST Amand's guaifenesin

protocol for fibromyalgia.

i've been fibro for many years and managing fine on a low carb diet

and the guaifensin protocol - was energatic, slim, i competed in

dancing and went to school and was also an actor. but about a two

and a half years ago i was living in a mercury contaminated house and

basically fell apart. my mother convinced my to look into mercury

poisoning and sent me Andy's book. when i first realized i had

mercury these were my symptoms

tingling numbness in face and hands

horrible pain in feet

pain in shins

rapid weight gain

drooling

anxiety attacks-

obsessive thinking

inability to make decisions

fear of crowds or fast moving objects

anti-social, withdrawal

puffiness all over mainly in legs and feet

digestive issues - whole food coming through bowel

yeast in gut

wierd sweating - i never really sweat my whole life

achey but sharp pain in side of back above hips - thought it might be

kidney - but don't know

pain, muscle tensness - especially in neck and back

bad sleep

lack of motivation, ability to complete tasks

I am much better now - most pain is gone. my thryoid isn't working

and i struggle day to day to figure out what it needs (i have to take

a huge amount of thyroid med to get an effect - but i sem to be hyper

and hypo at the same time sometimes - tried T3 therapy - seems to

help for a little bit, then not). adrenals as well - but i am doing

better on a lower dose of HC and other pills so i think thats getting

better too. when chelating my eyesite go a little better esp at

night. i have flare ups of yeast rarely now. digestion still an

issue as are wierd thought patterns but i don't get the anxiety

attacks like i used to. i'll have phases of drooling but these are

gettting less.

I have chelated off and on for about 2 years - when i started out i

dosed myself too high and i hurt mysef and had to stop for a while.

then i started with DMSA at low dose - i think 6 mg. very slowly i

worked up, VERY slowly. for a while i couldn't tolerate ALA with the

DMSA so i just did DMSA, then i added ala and chelated together for a

while i think getting to 25mg of each per dose. DMSA started getting

too expensive so i went to ALA only and have now worked up to 50 mg

(just this last cycle). It was strange cause i had no symptoms

during the round - usually i can smell the ALA in my urine and bowel

but not this round. I don't know what that means.

My biggest concern is that about two months ago all of a sudden my

stomach started sticking out - i didn't gain any weight but its

sticking out and i feel bloated all the time - and when i eat

something I feel full pretty quickly and it pushes stomach out even

further. i am very worried about it - i had an ultrasound and they

didn't see anything but i am still getting bigger right in the front

part of the tummy. (not pregnant - doctor checked that too.) also -

i started burping all the time and regularly get hiccups now- this is

definitely out of the ordinary for me. also - i am getting up int he

night to pee - sometimes so strong is the urge i don't make it. i

also wake in the morning with a swollen tongue and kind of dry

mouth. for a while my ankle were so puffy again i couldn't move them.

i am worried that it might be liver trouble - apparently early stages

of liver disease " fatty liver " can cause a roll of fat around the

middle. i've taken a lot of supplements over the last two years and

i'm worried that i've hurt it. when i press on my stomach it seems

hard like there is somehting in there - again the doctor didn't find

anything.

does chelation hurt the liver at all? what can i do to identify if

that's the issue? how can i help my liver? i take milk thistle but

it doesn't seem to do much.

two days ago my tummy seemed smaller (i've been trying to work out

regularly) but yesterday i had to take some naproxen for cramps and

now tummy is huge and the scale says i gained three pounds over

night. i do pretty strict atkins. i do have sugar free treats

though - these have sweeteners like splenda, xylitol, maltitol etc

could naproxen or sweeteners be affecting my liver?

any thoughts apprecciated. i'm going to have start wearing a corset!!
