When an acid is neutralized with a base, it is no longer an acid. > Taking high dosages of vitamin C will, correct me > if I am wrong mess(reduce) with electrolytes, especially magnesium. > I've never heard that before and I don't believe it is true. Therefore > I believe taking high vitamin C is not so smart. > The mercury does interfere with mineral transport but that doesn't mean that one should not take vitamin C. In fact, the reverse is true. One needs *lots of vitamin C and other antioxidants because mercury does damage through oxidative stress and antioxidants, such as vitamin C, can help to prevent some of the damage. Vitamin C is one of the mandatory things on the Cutler protocol. > I eat vegetables every day for the base they provide. I don't know the result, but it was ok. The doctor will tell you that it was ok if it was in the normal range but it has to be about 100 nmol/l in order to be optimal. The low end of the normal range is way too low. It is worth it to your health to look up the actual test and supplement accordingly. > > > > > > > > > > > On another side I read that mercury dumps sulfates. If you want to read about the process of sulfation that occurs in the liver see pages 42, 43 of " Amalgam Illness " . If you think that this process is not working well in you, you can 'push' it forward by supplying sulfate in supplements and epsom salt baths and supplemental molybdenum. There is a lot more than just sulfate involved in maintaining a strong gut barrier. It is too much for me to explain. Andy touches on the leaky gut on pages 48 and 182. Seeing as the symptom that you experience is inability to tolerate complex carbohydrates, I would suggest trying the specific carbohydrate diet (lots of information about the diet and recipes can be found with a google search). Do note that *some of the major supplements that will help to heal and maintain a healthy gut barrier are - magnesium, omega 3 oil, vitamin D, probiotics, glutamine. There is also a file " How to pick the right diet for your kid " in the files section that may help. J
